Digital Marketing is the broadcasting of products/services using digital technologies to bring awareness to those who are connected or not to the internet by any digital medium.
Digital Marketing is made of several components such as search engine optimisation, search engine marketing, content marketing, influencer marketing, customer support, campaigns, Ads, Ebooks, social media marketing, sms, mms, on hold mobile ring tones, games, etc….
It is common for customers to post feedback through social networks on their experiences with a product or brand. Thanks to that, the Brands determine which platform works best for them. And the potential customers get to know the Brand even though, word to mouth and peer to peer dialogue often have a greater effect on potential customers since they are not sent directly from the company, they’re spontaneous.
Brand awareness is a key objective for most companies, which can be achieved through many digital mediums such as YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, forums, etc… Using Ads is the fastest way to get brand/product awareness across the social channels or across the web such as using Adword by Google. Making collaborative posts with Influencers can help generate brand awareness too.
But what is highly present and very effective in Digital marketing, is the content marketing. It is a way to bring the value your audience is seeking in the places that they are searching for it. It makes the brand more relevant and more visible to the target audience.
Although the ultimate criteria to evaluate any business initiative should be its return on investment, the metrics of the Qualitative (which include sales volume and revenue increase/decrease) and Quantitative (which include enhanced brand awareness, image, and the relationship with the customer) for the digital marketing campaigns are relevant as well.
In order to achieve all that, the company needs a good marketing strategy plan made of three stages: opportunity, strategy and action.
The business needs to review the marketplace and set specific, measurable, actionable, relevant and time bound objectives by reviewing its KPIs and competitors’ to have a good opportunity plus they must express clearly what they are offering customers online.
And needs to set a budget which must be measurable such as audience reach across all digital platforms.
When entrepreneurs think about making their first hire, they usually start by creating a list of all the skills that the hired needs to have. And that list is almost always unrealistic.
If they want to build a team to take their digital marketing to the next level, they’ll likely need a graphic designer, copywriter, editor, and social media marketer. It’s tempting to try to find someone with all these skills but this person usually doesn’t exist. And if they do, they would be charge extremely high rates and rightly so.
